SpectroDraw is Up For Acquisition
Published: Aug 16, 2026
After nearly a year of development, SpectroDraw is officially available for acquisition.
SpectroDraw is an interactive spectrogram editor that lets users draw directly onto sound, creating, shaping, and transforming audio visually. Since launching in September 2025, it has grown to 33,000+ users, 160,000+ website views, and 1M+ social media views, with users ranging from music producers and sound designers to game developers and audio enthusiasts.
Why am I selling?
I started SpectroDraw because I wanted a tool that made spectrograms more than just something to look at. As a musician and programmer, I built SpectroDraw to combine my two biggest interests—and it quickly grew far beyond what I expected.
Over the past year, I've written nearly 90,000 lines of code, developed the web app and desktop plugin, created hundreds of pieces of marketing content, and built a community around the product.
But SpectroDraw has also taken up nearly all of my free time. As I look toward my future, I've realized that my long-term interests are pulling me toward other projects. Rather than letting SpectroDraw stagnate, I'd rather see it continue growing under a team with the time and resources to take it further.
What's included?
- Full proprietary source code — nearly 90,000 lines of code
- SpectroDraw web application
- Desktop VST/AU audio plugin
- Website and domain
- Branding and design assets
- Social media accounts and existing audience
- Existing customer/user data, where transferable
- Product documentation
- Analytics and business data
- Transition assistance and technical walkthroughs
I'll personally walk the buyer through the codebase, frontend, backend, payment system, and major features, and provide documentation to make the transition as smooth as possible.
An opportunity to take SpectroDraw further
SpectroDraw has generated $492.94 in revenue and approximately $383 in profit after expenses. While the current revenue is modest, the business has primarily focused on user growth rather than maximizing short-term revenue. Its generous free version helped attract tens of thousands of users, but also limits conversion to Pro.
That leaves significant room for a new owner to experiment with pricing, paid acquisition, subscriptions, enterprise licensing, and other business models.
There are also opportunities to expand into film and game audio, education, professional sound design, and AI-powered audio processing. With a dedicated development and marketing team, I believe SpectroDraw could reach an audience far beyond its current user base.
SpectroDraw isn't being sold because it has failed. It's being sold because I believe someone else is better positioned to take it to the next level.
If you're interested in acquiring SpectroDraw or would like to learn more about the opportunity, I'd love to hear from you.
